Every week we are introducing new speakers which will be on stage at #bbuzz 2015. Thanks to our program committee we can present part of our new eclectic program. Presentations range from beginner friendly introductions on hot data analysis topics to in-depth technical presentations about scalable architectures. The conference presents more than 50 talks by international speakers specific to the three tags "search", "store" and "scale".
Side by Side with Elasticsearch & Solr part 2: Performance & Scalability
Radu is a search and logging consultant at Sematext, focused mostly on Elasticsearch-based projects. He loves to fiddle with logging tools, such as Logstash, rsyslog and Apache Flume, which work for so much more than just system logs. Rafał is the author of Apache Solr Cookbook series and Elasticsearch server books, Sematext consultant and co-founder of http://solr.pl blog. He is mainly focused on Lucene, Solr, Elasticsearch, Hadoop and Mahout.
Together Radu and Rafał give a brand new take on their Solr&Elasticsearch talk from last year. They will show how to tune Elasticsearch and Solr for 2 common use-cases - logging and product search - and share some best practices for scaling out massive Elasticsearch and Solr clusters. For example: how to divide data into shards and indices/collections that account for growth, when to use routing and how to make sure that coordinating nodes don’t become unresponsive.

IoT, sensor data, financial transactions. The industry has moved to databases like Cassandra to handle the high velocity and high volume of data that is now common place. That's where Spark combined with Cassandra comes in, what was one just your storage system can be transformed into your analytics system.
