A South African doctor turned programmer, I was the first user of Elasticsearch and wrote the Perl API back in 2010. When Elasticsearch formed a company in 2012, I joined as the maintainer of the Perl modules. Now I spend a lot of my time designing the user interfaces and writing about Elasticsearch. I'm currently writing "Elasticsearch - the definitive guide" with O'Reilly Publishers.
